Which paint colour would go with grey carpet on a windowless hall and staircase?

We’ve having mid grey carpet fitted in a dark, narrow hall, landing and stairs but I don’t know which colour to choose to lighten it (if that’s possible!) and make it feel smart. I was thinking of a soft, shell pink but don’t know if that would work. We’ve had blue in the past so I’m ready for a change.

Hi. Having just got eleventy billion tester pots I could recommend F&B Borrowed Light - very pale but with a luminosity which is nice.
Yellow can be jolly so Day Room Yellow is a light primrose colour.

Pale pink is perfect. Primrose yellow, lilac, or skyblue could also work. Basically think pastels

We’ve gone for Almost Oyster by Dulux. It’s a pale pink with hint of creamy grey, it’s lovely. Thanks for everyone’s replies. I can’t wait to get the walls painted and then new carpet. I’ve waited so long to do some improvements to my home.
