High bed in small room?

We have a small fourth bedroom, just over 2 metres wide.
we have, and need, a small double bed in there, I’m thinking of getting a higher one with storage underneath- total of about 90cm high.
will this make the room feel really small? We had a single high sleeper in this room years ago and it felt really cramped, I think because the bed was a head level!

I agree that a lower bed should make the room feel less cramped than a higher one, but a 2m wide room seems really small and I think it would feel cramped anyway. It also depends on whether it has a window and where it is relative to the bed. Have you considered a sofa bed or something foldable?

Thank you, it’s a nice light room- I’ve thought about a sofa bed but the room is only needed for sleeping.

I see - I think a bed lower than before should definitely make it feel less cramped. Maybe check out www.furnitureferret.com/uk/c/beds as they list beds by size to get the lowest one that's still suitable.

Murphy bed?

My spare room has one of those single beds that converts to a double, it also has storage.

When pulled out it takes up the whole room.

There are other options on the single into double options.
