Do velux anti-heat blinds or shutters make a difference?

Do they really reduce the room temperature significantly, vs just keeping normal blackout blinds closed? The extra cost suggests some fancy tech but they don't really explain much!

Yes wouldn't be without ours. Got velux branded ones from screwfix, was a lot cheaper than anywhere else. Keeps it cooler in summer.

blinds like this. we got grey, was worried they woudl be a bit industrial looking, but they blend into the background now (we have a white and grey room)

We have the helix black out blinds, they also block out heat
