Upholstered or Wooden bed

For a new build which would be better this ercol bed? Or this Hypnos shallow divan but with a button headboard?

I can’t decide . Rest of room is blank canvas so far!

comfort , longevity is also a factor.

Wooden. Easier cleaned

Wood will always last longer as it can be cleaned. Upholstered always look cheap even if not IMO.

The Hypnos one really doesn't look very nice, Ercol is classic.

We have the ercol (this Salina model) for my DD’s bedroom and it’s beautiful. Very well made.
I’ve done upholstery courses and the upholstery on some bed, including ones that cost 1000’s, is appalling but not the Ercol. Also the base is all wood with slats that sit very close. It’s also future-proof in terms of design unlike the hypnos you shown here.
100% recommend the Ercol.

Thanks everyone that helps me. I was thinking that too but have overthought the whole issue! I’m not up to date on trends so was confusing myself !
