Painted over screws

I want to take down a set of vertical blinds. They've been up for years & the screws are painted over & clogged up with paint.

What's the best way of getting the screws out? This is my first ever DIY project so beginner explanation needed :)

Assuming you’ll need to repaint... get a sharp-pointed thing (ideally a bradawl, but anything robust)and scratch over the screw head, start in the middle and pick / scratch out enough paint to be able to get your screwdriver onto the inny bit on the screw. Keep your fingers out of range!!!

As above, if really thick paint, Dan some paint stripper on and remove with wire wool

If they are flat head screws with a straight slot, get a hammer and hammer the end of the screwdriver after you place it in the groove of the screw, it should be enough to loosen the paint to get the end of the screwdriver in enough to turn it. If they are Philips head, use a Philips screwdriver and do the same, really give it a good bash with the hammer on the end of the screwdriver, should be enough to get a decent turn on the screw to get it out.
