Wondered if anyone can give me some inspo. colours for a small home office (in converted loft space).

My DP is away tomorrow until Friday morning for work. I want to decorate his office in this time (in between caring for my DD (who will be at school) and my DS (who is 6 months)). I will need to do it whilst DS is in bed each night.

However, looking for inspo online and I just can't decide what colours to go with!!! I want to make it a calming space for him ... but it's really quite small!!!

Any body have any ideas to help me complete my mission and make it a success??? I will share before and after pics!!!!

What a lovely idea! As it’s a loft space you could save yourself a lot of cutting in if you do the walls and ceiling the same colour. What colour is the flooring/ other things in the room that are staying? How about an off-white all over, with one feature wall where the desk goes?

What would he like? Go with that.

I love my office which has walls and ceilings in the same colour, so less cutting in as sister Michael says and it cocoons you. Mine is soft pink so maybe not your husbands style! But how about soft green like here www.shelterness.com/green-bedroom-decor-ideas/pictures/76557/ with a couple of nice plants?? What colours does he like?

Yes to walls and ceiling the same colour! We have a light grey carpet and calke green on the walls/ceiling, it's cosy but not dark. Something warmish like green or a warm duck egg could be nice!

Ohhh that green is a lovely colour - really like the idea of wall/celling one colour too. Would you leave any walls different? I'm so scared that it might be too dark though.

The carpet is grey and his desk is grey / black .... I'm just picking up DD then will go to b&q to get the bits.

I also need to get a velux blind and replacement light fitting - it was an HMO before we bought so it's not in the best of state. Will get a pic once I'm home.

We got the velux blind from Blinds2go - was the cheapest option but sooo fiddly to fit!

I did it!!! Before and after photos, as promised !! Do you think he will like?

Forgot to mention - still waiting for blind to be delivered.

Also want to get some cushions - any suggestions for colours?!!

That looks brilliant OP! Really clean and nice looking. I'd go for dark teal cushions.

AltheaVestr1t · 19/10/2022 21:54

That's lovely! The sage green is a lovely calm colour. I'd go for cushions that pick up colours in the art work.

Youremyshininglight · 23/10/2022 23:22

Looks fab op I hope he loves it 👌😊

Orla32 · 24/10/2022 08:36

Thank you everyone! He loved it - although I ordered the wrong size blind!! Now to move onto the next project....
