Kitchen cabinet colours and lights

We have just had a lovely new kitchen fitted, but I’m having a wobble/ headache about the colours and lights. It seems like such a first world problem at the moment, but it’s been a big expensive project for our forever home and I really want to finish it off properly.

I had been planning to do (colour matched) Farrow and Ball Setting Plaster on the perimeter units with Duck Green on the island. Now wondering if the blush pink is strong enough to go with the worktops which are darker than I was expecting, although I do love them. Considering Oval Room Blue instead but would that be too bright/ garish? We kind of have to go dark on the island and lighter on the rest because of the primer that’s been put on.

Also I slightly impulse bought a Heal’s ribbon light in the sale a while back (we are well outside the returns period) and I’m stressing it’s too big and modern to go with the kitchen. The idea was to hang it above the dining table which will go at right angles in front of the island.

We need three pendants to go above the island and I’m struggling to find something that will go with the ribbon light, that my husband likes. Wondering if I should cut my losses on the ribbon light, try and sell it, and go for something either plainer or more industrial, eg Titan from Original BTC, or maybe a Nelson Bubble pendant.

I feel like I’ve lost all perspective on this now!

PS the doors with the glass panels are the wrong ones and will be replaced with ones that match the other tall ones on the left.

I wanted F&B Setting Plaster for our kitchen cabinets but unfortunately found it looked far too pale in our (south-facing) kitchen.

We went for F&B Oval Room Blue instead (not colour matched) and are really pleased with the result, but we have iroko worktops and like bold colours 🙄😉 We have the blue on base cabinets, large island and huge vintage larder with cream (Craig & Rose Pale Oak) on the cooker hood and wall units.

However, I'm still hankering after a pink kitchen - maybe in the next house!

Here's a pic of one part of our kitchen - I'm not there at the moment so don't have any additional pics to hand.

@LibertyLily thank you so much for responding and sorry I’ve taken so long to reply! Your kitchen looks lovely - I love the touches of red with the oval room blue.

Our room is west facing, and while it does have several windows/ doors we don’t have a wall of glass or anything, and the tall cabinets are in probably the darkest corner of the room, so the oval room blue looked a bit too dark there we decided in the end.

We’ve gone for Pink Ground in the end instead of Setting Plaster, so actually have gone lighter, but it was the brown tones in setting plaster that were bothering me a bit, and the pink ground looks fresher. And then Hague Blue on the island - I didn’t want that initially as I felt it was too overdone, but actually I do much prefer it to the green. Painting is due to start tomorrow!

and we’re keeping the big light and have got some smallish Anglepoise pendants for over the island - ordered pistachio green for a bit of extra colour, but now wondering if I should have gone black or grey! I just need to stop being so indecisive!
