We have just had a lovely new kitchen fitted, but I’m having a wobble/ headache about the colours and lights. It seems like such a first world problem at the moment, but it’s been a big expensive project for our forever home and I really want to finish it off properly.
I had been planning to do (colour matched) Farrow and Ball Setting Plaster on the perimeter units with Duck Green on the island. Now wondering if the blush pink is strong enough to go with the worktops which are darker than I was expecting, although I do love them. Considering Oval Room Blue instead but would that be too bright/ garish? We kind of have to go dark on the island and lighter on the rest because of the primer that’s been put on.
Also I slightly impulse bought a Heal’s ribbon light in the sale a while back (we are well outside the returns period) and I’m stressing it’s too big and modern to go with the kitchen. The idea was to hang it above the dining table which will go at right angles in front of the island.
We need three pendants to go above the island and I’m struggling to find something that will go with the ribbon light, that my husband likes. Wondering if I should cut my losses on the ribbon light, try and sell it, and go for something either plainer or more industrial, eg Titan from Original BTC, or maybe a Nelson Bubble pendant.
I feel like I’ve lost all perspective on this now!
PS the doors with the glass panels are the wrong ones and will be replaced with ones that match the other tall ones on the left.
