Mattress Topper Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a matress topper for a super-king bed that doesn't cost a ridiculous amount of money?

We've got an Emma mattress and it's just so hard!

I've no advice other than contact Emma. I called them and told them it was too hard and they sent me an extra layer of sponge to put directly under the mattress cover. Free of charge.
For me, it didn't help enough and I still found it too hard so ended up forking out for a tempur.

dunelm . 70 pounds or there about for our super king topper ( actually 2 singles put together in the spare room ). Guests say it’s a really comfortable bed .

Marks and Spencer memory foam mattress toppers are bliss.

Not sure what your cut off is for "a ridiculous amount of money" but I have this one from JL - £115 for superkingsize - and we love it.

If you use fitted sheets, be aware that a thick topper might cause you problems if the sheets aren't deep enough.

I got a memory foam topper from amazon for a rock hard single bed, it was only about £20....i will see if I can link it

They've gone up in price, I got the 3" one and v happy with it 4 yrs on though

The White Company mattress topper is amazing

Might have helped if I'd actually pasted the link in the post!

We bought the Emma hybrid, added their extra layer, still dreadful, so bought the Panda topper, which came highest rated in the independent. It's heavenly.

Lochjeda · 25/10/2022 00:32

My Emma diamond topper arrived today. My husband said our mattress was too firm and this one said it would help with that and its just as firm as the mattress we have. So this threads great. We want it much softer than memory foam goes I think.

Minkymandy · 25/10/2022 00:34

Another vote for the panda topper. Amazing! Suffered with our new Emma mattress. Could hardly walk or sit because of the pain in my hips. The panda has changed all that

FurnitureDisease · 25/10/2022 00:39

Dorma one from Dunelm, we have it on our bed and in spare room. Think it was around £199 for a king size

Bunny2021 · 25/10/2022 12:14

Great! Thanks everyone. Will check out the suggestions.

John Lewis have a zipped one so you can un zip it and wash each side in a washing machine.

Loved my white company one, but you have to take that to a laundrette to get it a machine.

Wilma55 · 25/10/2022 16:29

Panda used to do a discount with code newtobamboo so worth a try

Movinghouseatlast · 25/10/2022 16:34

I just bought one from Dusk to go on the Emma. It's a great topper but not as good as The White Company one linked above.

I'm sending the Emma back. It's like sleeping in a brick, even when they send the 'free' bit of foam.

Paddingtonthebear · 08/11/2022 23:01

We have these on all beds

I’ve literally just taken delivery of an Emma flip mattress tooper. It’s reduced at the moment. I’ve just got into bed and it’s made a big difference . Haven’t slept on it yet. Can you return the mattress you have or is it too late? My bed is a super king too. I swithered between this and a Simba. If this doesn’t work for me I’m going to buy a new mattress altogether. The one I have is a year old but too hard and hurts my hips.

I looked at that but reviews said it was hot. Have you found that?

Minkymandy · 08/11/2022 23:14

I haven't found it too bad heatwise and I'm a woman of flush age 🥵 I do wear short sleeves/light pjs to sleep in though.

Bunny2021 · 09/11/2022 08:02

@RosettaStormer unfortunately too late to return it.

I’m definitely going to keep an eye out in the Black Friday sales for toppers. I like the idea of a washable one because of having a small child.

Panda topper, absolutely fabulous as are their pillows. They do a 30 night trial if you buy direct and also sell refurbished products on ebay.

RosettaStormer · 09/11/2022 09:04

Well I wish I’d bought the Panda one now. The Emma topper was okay but felt quite unnatural. The sheets came off it too. I think I’m going to have to buy a new bed and mattress. The bed has an ottoman base with no give and I feel like the Princess and the Pea. I hate it.
the bed and mattress I have is only a year old! I should have sent them both back.

Bunny2021 · 09/11/2022 21:44

@RosettaStormer I’m in the same position. We have an ottoman bed and a really uncomfortable mattress.
