Please help me with my kitchen

I need help sorting out my kitchen which is fairly new so we're not going to replace it but we want to improve it. The worktop is white corian and the cupboards are cream. The combination is too samey so we're considering getting the cupboards properly painted in a blue / teal colour.

We desperately need blinds and curtains for the windows. DH wants plain but I think a pattern would be better.

We also need a splashback, I like the look of steel but prefer glass for ease of cleaning.

I wouldn't paint the cupboards I would paint the walls a different colour and get blinds for the window in a nice bright colour.

I'm another one saying leave the cupboards. Paint the walls a strong colour.

If you can do with out it take some of the top cupboards out and put in shelving?

Use pattern on the window/door dressing.

Put some art on the wall near the door - plate wall, massive poster or smaller frames.

Think you need a bigger table as well.

You can get 'art' splash backs which might be the way to go if you go for plain window dressings.

Could you change the taps? To a colour?

What is the lighting like - can you go with something bold and architectural?

Just realised there are no top cupboards so ignore my comment about taking them down!

Have you thought about olive green op?

Look up decorative kitchen panelling on Pinterest - colour and texture would make things a bit less bland.
