dullest question ever - I'm doing building work and have decided to keep two steel beams exposed. This means I have to have them painted in intumescent (fire resistant) paint. All the reviews of this paint are that it's really thick and hard to use and doesn't look great when it has been applied.
When I'm out and about I see steel beams that are painted and look fine - they're also in all sorts of interesting colours - which is all looking really complicated to achieve. I gather you have to do two coats and the top coat can be a colour - but only in a very limited range (and I was hoping to colour match my tiles)
Does anyone have any experience of this and any way to make the process easier/better/less painful?!
