Layering curtains

I want to add a gauzy linen layer to my living room window for some privacy in the summer evenings to a heavier curtain for warmth.
I can't find a suitable double bracket to take both curtains. The finials of the gauzy layer will be subtle and hidden by the top layer.
I was going to choose black for both - the hardware on the window is black.
Does this sound like it will work?

Hi!
Are you looking for poles or tracks brackets? Or a full set? Check them out - www.polesandblinds.com/curtain-poles/double-curtain-poles ? Is this something you are after?

greyandcontent · 06/10/2022 10:52

Thanks @Betty75 I wanted poles - but I can't have a third bracket due to the way the window frame meets the cornice. And the thinner poles that come as a double are only for medium weight curtains. So I wondered if I could do two separate poles

Could you use a tension rod for the lighter curtain?

We have our voiles on ceiling brackets that fit inside the top of the window recess.

I want to be able to pull the lighter curtain completely away from the window during the day.

I can't quite imagine your set up but could you have a privacy roller blind fitted behind the curtains which you can pull up when not needed. We have similar in our bedroom & they are great

We have an Ikea double rod curtain pole

Ikea used to do double and triple poles, not sure if they still do but only place I've seen then so have a look there.

You probably could. Do you know the brand of your existing pole? Then you can look for the double brackets of the same brand. Mixing different brands can be risky. Do you have a picture?

I don't have an existing pole - the previous owners had Venetian blinds.
