Ikea sofa bed recommendation

Attempting to persuade my dad that he needs to get a new spare bed - I think it will be easier to sell a sofa bed and Ikea seems the obvious choice.
Any recommendations that you've bought recently? we need a double and it won't get slept on that much.

Is it to be a frequently used sofa? The Lycksele is a reasonably comfortable bed but more of an occasional sofa. We slept on it for 3 months during building work and you can store bed linen under it in a special box.
Stocks not looking good but there are plenty of secondhand ones around

Bed in a box?

Bed in a box?

Haven't looked at that - It's not that frequent and we are now thinking sofa chair instead but they are all out of stock at Ikea.

Ektorp is decent. When Ex and I were splitting, we both spent a few nights on it. But in my experience, no sofabed is comfortable for a couple. although, to be fair, I say that about a lot of king size beds too so I might just have issues with sharing a bed.

The hemnes is a comfortable bed and great that it can be single or double (actually maybe it's king when pulled out fully?) and has storage drawers underneath, holds it's resale value, but it's a bloody uncomfortable sofa

Thr Range has awesome sofa chairs, get at least 3 foot wide, I just bought one two months ago and very happy with it.

We can't fit a Hemnes in the room it's intended for, but the other options sound helpful.
