Paint colour for North Facing room.

We're looking ideas for a great colour to paint a long neglected room which we've just had replastered. Really hoping to get this right.
Our problem is that it's North Facing with practically solid greenery outside, grass, 3 metre high privet hedge and shrubs. Also some very tall conifers across the road so very little sky visible.
How can we decorate so it warms and brightens but doesn't take up the green hue from outside?
We're getting a carpet in a close match to the hall one which is a pale goldish colour ( hard to describe)

We have a north facing room in a loft conversion so smaller windows than the rest of our rooms. We used a Dulux paint from their light and space range and it does seem to make the room look brighter.

Thanks, the Light and space range sounds interesting...must Google further, just haven't had much luck finding out how to counteract the green hue.
I could ask in the local paint shop but he never seems to have time to give advice. I'm also afraid he'll thing I'm imagining the green hue issue, not sure if it's a recognised thing in the decorating world .

Could you go with the green rather than fight it? We Have chosen a lively green for our living room which is north facing.

Mmmmm, yes, maybe....dunno, so fed up with it and don't want to make an expensive mistake, need curtains too. I suppose this is why people who can , use interior designers. Thanks

Suggest you listen to the farrow and ball stories, there are regular features on best colours for rooms facing in particular directions, I have a north east facing bedroom and have had it painted farrow and ball shaded white and it is so lovely - though not sure it will go with the carpet you have selected - there are many other colours that will work!

Dulux blush pink looks lovely in our north facing living room. I have lots of plants in there, the pink and green complement each other so we’ll.

I'm going to go for lick pink 01 in mine , when I can ever face decorating !

I don't think pink colours would go with a pale gold carpet.
Schoolhouse White has worked for me in a north facing room

In a north facing room with a sandy/light brown speckle type carpet we have Dulux Jasmine White - it’s warmer than brilliant white but not a yellow cream colour.
