What kind of cushion to put on a stool?!

I have a round wooden stool in my kitchen and it's really uncomfortable to sit on without a cushion, so I'd like to get a cushion for it. I'm wondering whether to just get a round chair pad and put it on top of the stool, or is it possible to get cushions where the bottom fits over the top of the stood and has a round elasticated hole underneath to hold it in place?!

Any thoughts on what kind of cushion to get would be great!

or an elastic cover that I suppose you could put a round cushion under and then fit
fitted cover

I’d probably just find a new padded, comfortable stool tbh.
