Tell me about bamboo blinds

I want to get bamboo blinds for a small living room. Wood Venetian would also work but more expensive.
Are there types of bamboo blinds that block light out better than others? We have a traffic light near our window and don’t want to sit on the sofa watching the blinds turn red, amber and green 😊
any experiences or recommendations so welcome! Thank you
