What colour worktops compliment oak?

Ivory gloss cabinets, an island that has an oak top but not sure what type of worktops will look good with it. Like a calm modern feel, but useless at choosing.

dark granite

Cream or ivory granite. It seems to be popular in America, lots of photos of it with cream cupboards

Why not have oak to match the island?

Maintenance?

It's a bit over kill the island is a muted blue/green looks better than I've described it!

I would go for white quartz
