I want to add a bit of colour . At the moment I have an oatmeal, cream feature wall in my bedroom. I'm in a cottage so all my furniture is pine, I want to repaint the walls teal. Would you paint the pine wardrobes etc teal as well

I would do the walls and see how things looked. I don't think I would do all the furniture teal though, maybe a coordinating colour. You could go cream, or if you were feeling more adventurous a yellow or hot pink.

Dark Colours like teal drain the colour from my face so I look tired. But I like the colour.

I wouldn't paint the pine teal, no. Apart from being too much teal, I think painting it will be a pain and you'd have to do it again if you changed the colour scheme. If I was painting them at all, I'd paint them a neutral goes with anything.

Yeah, good idea , thanks peeps

I have questions!
Are they built in wardrobes?
What shade of teal? Bright bluey teal (eg teal tension) or a darker green teal?

MiddleAgedTraveller · 31/08/2022 20:18

Teal is the new grey (ie already past its sell by date)

Yeah I think teal has had it's day. Lots of colours go with pine though (we have a pine heavy house and in the middle of decorating so have been researching!). These are the colours I'm going for in my bedroom (has a pine picture rail and all pine furniture). I wouldn't paint the furniture.

I love teal! Definitely don't paint the pine teal too

SoupDragon · 31/08/2022 22:46

If you like teal, have teal. If you've chosen something because you like it, it's never "had its day"

Wardrobe is hand made and not built in, the room is 14ft square approx but due to shape of the house its got funny angles, imagine a 50p cut in quarters, each quarter is a room. The ceiling is 10ft high which is why I think it can take a darker colour. And it's a blue teal 😁i don't care what's in or out, it's my house not a show house

I'll be painting my teenage son's room teal - F&B Vardo - and will have F&B Ammonite and Skimming Stone on furniture and Strong White on woodwork.

Is that his choice?

@PremiumPiglet what a strange question. Why on earth would you want to know that? Are you planning a call to social services? LMAO.
