I want to make my kitchen warmer for winter and want to add curtains to my French doors. The kitchen is long and narrow and the doors are on the narrow wall, but annoyingly off centre. My idea is to run the curtains across the whole of the wall to the corners. That means the curtains could be pushed out of the way when open, possibly just on one side as well. Otherwise you get weird curtain bits when the curtain is open, with just a small section of wall showing on either side, but annoyingly different amounts -I think that would look cluttered and fiddly and would bring attention to the fact that the doors are off centre. When the curtains are closed, they’d cover the whole of that wall, which I think would look better. That end of the kitchen has a desk on one side and a sofa on the other, so no actual kitchen stuff. DH thinks I should just put the curtains around the actual doors like normal people. I’ve had these curtains for three years, and they have still not been put up! What would be best? I keep doubting myself.
