Can I get rid of marks on this mirror (pics included)?

It’s old, but has sentimental value. Any ideas how I could remove them, lovely MNetters? TIA.

Surface grime? I would try acetone / nail varnish remover personally.
Should be fine on the glass, but you'll want to check it doesn't damage the gold paint first (looks painted, sorry if it's just the photo).

A bit of soap in some water. Then clean off with plain water.
Then buff with old newspaper or a chamois cloth to avoid smears.
Don’t scrub the frame too hard.

Those rubber window/shower things are also great at removing excess water and getting in to the corners/edges.

If you use acetone use it outside. The smell is really harsh and needs to be used in a well vented area.
