Soft peach

I’m trying to find a colour for my bedroom and considering soft peach - is it too 80s or due a revival?

The rest of my house is white/grey/blue and I’m now craving some colour!

Ooooft. Intrigued..

Solosunrise · 26/08/2022 18:54

Do you think you'll like it it your bedroom with soft peach? If so, do it! Who cares what's 'dated' or not?

disneylover367 · 26/08/2022 18:55

I think it could look really good. Have a look on Pinterest for ideas.

Davros · 26/08/2022 18:58

Very 80s, especially with green/jade and some rag rolling and stencilling. Could be due a revival but not in my house, I had it all first time round!

I've recently used a chalky pink which I love. It's called soho house but can't remember the make. My parents had a peach bedroom in the 80s, it could work again with the rattan trend 🤷‍♀️

PorkPieForStarters · 26/08/2022 19:33

If you like it, go for it - I'm a big advocate for decorating your house however makes you happy, screw what other people might think!

I have a peach colour in a couple of rooms (rosy peach by valspar) - in one room the colour goes about 5/6 up to the ceiling with an off-white the rest of the way, and in another it goes up about a third of the way and the top of that is scalloped and again with the off-white above it up to the ceiling for balance. If it wasn't so outing I'd share photos, but I love it! If I was doing floor to ceiling I'd probably go for a much paler version, it could be quite intense otherwise.

Agree with PP about it looking great with ratan!

We had rattan bedroom furniture too. We gave it away, I wish we'd kept it

Jemimapuddleduk · 27/08/2022 21:55

We have farrow and ball faded terracotta in one of our rooms. It’s beautiful and recently won paint colour of the year so we were ahead of trend with it 🤣 So warm and reminds me of Spanish buildings.

Somanysocks · 27/08/2022 21:55

Well it's one of the colours you can get 'off the shelf' so it's still being used. I have customers who use this colour a lot.

Pixiedust1234 · 27/08/2022 22:30

I have that colour in my front room and bathroom. I love it. It gives a gentle warming glow at night which feels comforting in the freezing depths of winter.

Rebelmcstreettuff · 27/08/2022 22:31

Yes I had peach decor, boarders, picture rails the lot.
Please rethink 😜

peachgreen · 27/08/2022 22:33

I have Farrow and Ball’s Setting Plaster in my bedroom which is a dull pinky peach and it makes me happy every time I look at it.

Chewbecca · 28/08/2022 12:49

I’ve got peach in a room with navy. I regret it, it’s not right. Probably the wrong shade of peach so if you go for it, choose carefully!

felulageller · 28/08/2022 13:49

It's a lovely colour. Who the f cares what's 'in fashion'??

Saz12 · 29/08/2022 22:10

I think it’s a great colour - a warm relaxed glowy thing!
Assuming you don’t pair it with Laura Ashley style flouncy curtains and wallpaper borders...

CallmeMrsPricklepants · 29/08/2022 22:11

Sounds dangerously close to terracotta. Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen will be round to put up a dodgy shelf in no time.

EdithStourton · 29/08/2022 22:20

Instant 80s flashback here.

I like terracotta, but was never keen on peach.

We have that colour in our courtyard and I absolutely love it. It looks great in the morning sun and different but equally lovely with the lights on at night. It feels like we're sitting in the garden of a villa in Italy instead of one in zone 2.

DramaAlpaca · 29/08/2022 22:37

Instant 80s flashback here too. I didn't like it then and I'm not sure it's very now. Terracotta is much better.

megosaurusrex · 29/08/2022 22:54

If it's done well it could look really nice!

I'm with you @felulageller! Am a firm believer in wear what you like and decorate your home how you like.

catinboots123 · 30/08/2022 06:21

I just did my bathroom in F & B Setting Plaster

It's very peach
