Linen bedding - tumble dry?

Thinking up upgrading our duvet cover and like the look of linen. But I try to avoid using the tumble drier and I'm wondering if Linen stays soft if you line-dry it.

I'm not bothered about wrinkles and wouldn't iron it.

Anyone got linen bedding who can share their experience?

It'll look like a crumpled mess after the first night of sleeping in it.

I don't mind that.

My experience is that washing and line drying do make it feel stiffer, but that after a night or two of being slept in, it's soft again. I have tumble dried it once or twice (to help shrink it) and didn't notice that it was much softer afterwards.

I've used nothing but linen for about 25 yrs.
I love the crispness after the wash. Don't iron it.

I have one linen set. I sometimes tumble dry it in the winter to give myself a treat, but I mostly line dry. It’s a bit crunchy the first night but softens right out with use. I quite like them. :)

I line dry and only find it very slight stiff the first night. Ironing it can help remove that however I barely iron anything anyway and it goes lovely and crumply after one night anyway. 😊
