If I buy a standard style floor lamp and don't like the shade, is it always possible to change the shade?

It depends. Its it a lamp that comes with a shade or is it all metal or what. Can you post a pic?

This middle one. Sorry, not a good picture, and I didn't look inside at the time. Just the more I look at it, the more I think the shade is too bland .

It looks changeable to me! You'll just need to check the fitting first, but it looks like it should be easy.

I think a lot ( though check ) of theirs are changeable, I was going to buy one like that last year but they ran out of stock .

I ended up going to B&Q and getting a completely different style was also only about a quarter of the price
