£2800 for new sliding doors?

Would you think this expensive? I had a company come and measure up this week and sent me a quote. My bedroom has built in wardrobes, which are excellently laid out inside and I couldn't improve on them, but the doors are absolutely knackered. They've come off the rails, and were an old lady style, sort of cream melamine with gilt trim. I painted them years ago with Annie Sloan chalk paint and they looked great but now they are just knackered.

I can't have non-sliding doors because of the size and layout of the bedroom, and these are really good quality and look fabulous. It would mean replacing all the runners/rails as well. I can't do the work myself and can't bear hunting around for several quotes either.

It's a lot just for doors I think. But I bought some about six years ago and everything has gone up a lot.

IKEA Pax sliding doors and hiring someone to fit them for you could work out cheapest. If pax fit that is...

I went with Sharps Bedrooms in Hove and bought two fitted wardrobes for two rooms. Including one of three doors of white glass
all in they were about 3.5k. And all fancy insides included. And I thought that was pretty expensive.

But we then moved 😳
