Hi

I am totally new to this but am looking to replace the carpets in my one bedroom flat.

bedroom 4.5m x 3.5m

living room 4.5m x 3m

hallway 3m x 2.5m

stairs normal straight staircase

I’ve checked pricing for carpet and I like the ones between £15.99 - £25.99 per SM but would need to see the samples first to be sure. I typed the measurements into carpet right @ £15.99 PSM and it’s coming up at £1500 just for the carpets, not including underlay and fittings…

does this seem reasonable?

thanks

We've recently had carpet fitted and paid about £15+ per sqm . Underlay was £6-£12 per sqm, depending on the thickness and fitting was £80 per room, but cheaper if you have more room done.

It's worth visiting in store, as they may have off cuts, which could work out good value. We bought an off cut for £100, which they normally sold for £30 per sqm ( we saved a couple of hundred pounds).

Fitting is usually £50 per room.

I've just had new carpet fitted in living room. My room is 5m by 4.5m and I needed underlay, grippers and a door bar. The price from carpet right was ridiculous. They quoted nearly £900 plus £112 to be paid to fitter on day. The carpet was £15.99/m2. I went to a local carpet shop and he charged £450 for everything and did a marvellous job. I have been back to him to order another carpet as he was so good and reasonable. I will avoid carpet right from now on.
