How can I de-grey my living room!

I am soooo fed up of my grey living room but really struggling with how to change it up. We have grey carpet and grey sofas (very similar but not identical to the ones pictured) which we can’t afford to replace at the moment. I would love to warm up the room, ideally I’d have a warm stone/beige-y/cream colour on the walls but would this clash with the light grey sofas? It’s an average sized room in a modern house, one of the long walls is papered, and needs to stay papered as the wall is a mess! We can put new paper up though. Hoping to get some tips or pics for inspiration to get it looking nice and cosy. TIA!

@kikiterrific that is a lovely colour, that could definitely work. I love that look too @Badtasteflump, not sure if I’m brave enough haha

I have grey sofas- big ones and have repainted my very grey room egyptian cotton. I had a new carpet so thats more of a greige than grey. Then the accents are sage green. Its a very small room so didn’t want anything too dark otherwise would have gone for a bottle green feature wall. Although the sofas are very obviously grey I don’t think you notice because the accessories are warm. Lots of delicate wooden touches e.g. basket for blankets, tv cabinet has a wooden top, lampshade has a wooden strip around the bottom. Also have foliage in the form of pussy willow and eucalyptus. But then I also have a lovely piece of artwork that is in a navy frame and the colours are blue, pink and caramel which doesn’t really match but I don’t care. I think it makes it look less straight from the Next directory!!

If it feels stark, you probably want to look at your lighting as well. Do you have lamps with warm bulbs?

I would also recommend some medium to large scale art on the walls if you don't want to paint. Grey can be a good neutral base for a gallery type feeling.

If you paint the walls pink (our sitting room is Middleton Pink) then go for green or yellow or blue as an accent colour, avoid any brighter or stronger pinks in the room unless you want it to look like a toddler's bedroom.

@Crochetandcoke i missed your reply earlier, you could be on to something, your ‘before’ pics are what I’ve tried in the past and it always looks a bit cold and teenage girl!!
I’m torn between a darker dusky pink and navy/charcoal now… lots of great ideas to go off 👍🏻

Try Dulux Denim Drift. Gorgeous colour which looks great with grey and pink. The colour changes throughout the day too.
