Regret

I bought some very expensive upholstered dinner chairs that are meant for the dinning area which is in the new extension. Problem ? The new extension has bifold doors and a roof velux window. The extension is west facing, so lots of string sunlight.

I am really regretting it all because the chairs are going to be bleached by the sun. There is no where else to put the dinning room without making the flow of the house awkward.

can the chairs be returned? have they already been delivered. I actually think the sun bleaching will take a good few years and if they are dining chairs will they be tucked away under the table when not in use? that will probably protect them from the sun.

Yeah, i get it. We bought a new sofa in a tremendous colour that we're very happy with. 1.5 years in and the fading is present.

Solar film on the window?

Thanks. With solar window film would that reduce clear visibility of the outside views?

My brother's just had it put on his bi-fold doors to save his expensive flooring and rug from fading. You wouldn't know it was on - totally clear view. Specialist job though and not cheap.
