Why must dining chairs come in twos? How do I get one only?

I want one of these teal dining chairs:

In the shop and via Twitter messenger, I’ve been told I have to buy the pair. Is there any way round this? Do Next have a clearance or seconds shop where I could get just one?

Buy 2 and sell the other one 🤷‍♀️

Or you could settle for a similar chair bought elsewhere that sells them singly
