Which paint colour to complement?

I’m in the process of having my en-suite renovated. The suite is white and the fixtures polished bronze. I’m putting the mural on one wall and have had the detail colour matched (the dark teal on the right) which I will paint the vanity unit with. The opposite shower wall will be the dark tiles (middle colour is the colour match). The floor will be mid brown wood effect tile.

My dilemma is which colour to use on the remaining two walls. The colour on the right was matched to the background of the mural but I’m not sure if it works with the other colours? I’m tempted to paint the walls with the dark teal but worry it might be too dark. The room is north facing with a large window if that helps? Has anyone got any ideas please?

Hi op I love the octopus! That looks a similar teal to our bed although ours is more peacocky if that makes sense. We went for farrow and ball setting plaster which is a dusty pink looks lovely with the teal and really warms it up and I think the stone that was colour matched could be lovely but look a bit cold in a north facing room? And could be picked up in other areas like with accessories / towels.

I'd be tempted to get a few testers and the paint goes on so well I wouldn't get it colour matched - it still works out cheaper as you'll need less coats.

Will be amazing when it's done

What you’ve picked sounds really cool. I love the mural.

TBH though, there’ll be a lot going on with the wooden effect floor, tiling, vanity unit and the mural that adding another colour might be a bit much?

I’d be boring and go for a complementary white so everyone else can stand out.

I’d go for a pinky neutral to go with teal and copper. Dulux mellow mocha is gorgeous.

Slightly off topic. I love your teal tiles and am thinking of doing them in my shower. Someone suggested they would be very difficult to keep clean: are you still pleased with yours? TIA

Hi @Alison4y. The bathroom has been delayed unfortunately so the tiles are still in boxes. I’m not sure why they’d be difficult to clean though as they’re glazed. I’m not sure if matt tiles are harder to clean? I think them being darker might help as well. I plan to use an epoxy grout as that is more mildew resistant than standard grout.

Sorry to hear your bathroom has been delayed. I think the concern was lime scale but I will also make sure they use an epoxy grout.
