Am moving home to house with 1 bathroom but each of the 3.5 bedrooms have a v old fashioned basin in! No scope for ensuites or having extra bathroom as listed cottage. What would you do? Keep basins and if so how can I make them look good or get rid?!! Thanks Smile

I'd get rid. I really dislike them for some unknown reason.

Keep them! So handy for brushing teeth, shaving, doing hair/ make-up, washing hands etc when someone else is in the bathroom.

They look horrible now but can see benefits of keeping them for teeth cleaning, getting ready etc because of having only one small bathroom. But.... don't they look really old fashioned and 1970s??!! I don't know how to make them look 'luxurious' or even half decent...

I had a sink in my bedroom growing up and it was brilliant, especially as I was on the top floor. I had a large built in vanity unit and wardrobe so loads of storage around it. If there's room in the bedroom I'm not sure what's not to like?!

Having lived in army houses, weve had this many times.

It was useful in a guest bedroom. They were never used in regular bedrooms though. We turned the kids ones off at the stopcock.

I think I might be tempted to build a cupboard around it so can be hidden.

Thanks vanity unit and cupboard sounds interesting idea... they're all next to chimney breasts so maybe we can squeeze something in!
