Fireplace refurb - basic advice needed

I've booked to have an eco-stove fitted in September. The cast iron fireplace will be taken out, the void will be rendered smooth and new tiles laid, before the stove is installed. I still need to choose the tiles (probably plain black) and the stove. My question is, what should I do about the white wooden border around the current tiles ? It covers the gap between the laminate floor and the tiles. One option would be to paint it black to match the new tiles. But could it also be replaced with something less prominent? What do people usually use?

Also, the cast iron fireplace in the picture will be taken out. Presumably it has resale value, but it's difficult to tell how much because all the fireplaces on Ebay are different, and some go for much more than others. So i'd be interested in well informed opinions on what I should expect to get for it, if anything.

We got an edger the same as our lvt flooring which worked fine because of the height of the tiles. If that isn't an option I think you will need either some edging tiles if the step up is high enough or some more wood. I agree painting the existing wood black is probably better.

I have no idea about the value of the cast iron fireplace. I also look at ebay a lot to try to find one and I am just as bemused by the price differences!

We have a similar fireplace, I paid £50 for it on marketplace.
