Rug Gripper with carpet

So I used to have laminate in the living room with a large rug but it was always chilly in there so we've recently put carpet down.
Really happy with it, much nicer on your feet feels warmer but I want to keep the rug!

. I like the look of it
. Protect the carpet from a random glass of red wine or similar

But it's always bunching up & creasing in the middle, it's so annoying!

I've googled rug to carpet grips & even bought some useless thing from Amazon but everything on closer inspection seems to be rug to hard floor.

Does anyone have anything which keeps their rug in place on a carpet? Please 😀

Watching with interest because I’m seriously contemplating nailing ours to the floor with carpet tacks!

I've used this for our rugs on both carpets and wood floors, and it works

We have a rug on a carpet which continuesly travels across the carpet.

Nothing has worked 🙃

I'll check out the John Lewis option although I think that's more expensive than the actual rug!

Quite reassuring to know it's not just mine! Confused

@leotardrock there are some of the JL ones advertised on eBay, new, half the price. Might be an option depending on the size you need.

one half of our rug is under some furniture legs so does stay for a few days, the loose end travels and so rumples up so I’ve bought one to stick under that bit. I hope it works!

Thanks Help that's really kind!! I'll get on it!

@leotardrock sadly the JL rug gripper isn’t working for us. I’m so glad I didn’t pay full price for it!

HatTheRat · 03/07/2022 18:22

Oh no, I’m so sorry for the duff recommendation! It worked for us on carpet as well as wood floors, but maybe it depends on the pile or type of carpet fibre? Hope you find a solution soon!

Yes I figured it must be a pile / rug backing issue but it was definitely worth a try @HatTheRat
