Kitchen/ open plan paint colours

We’re extending and will be fitting a new kitchen in the next couple weeks, creating a larger kitchen/ dinner opened planned into a family room.
I need help with paint colours, south facing room, lots of light. Kitchen is dove grey units and navy island, pale oak floor. the open plan family space adjoins to the right of the pic via a 2.5 m wide transition, so is a separate space but visible. Worktops are white quartz/ white metro style tiles on walls so thinking a shade of white may be too clinical.
I did wonder about a navy wall at the main run of worktop with a pale grey in the rest of the family space but other than that have no ideas. (Other than blush pink which my DH wouldn’t be keen on)
All suggestions gratefully received!

We did similar very recently. Walls are Dulux trade grey steel 4, 00NN83000 in a vinyl Matt, one feature wall in the back section where there are no windows painted mustard spice from crown. Our units are a teal green, but I think the colours would work with navy too. The grey (which is really an off-white) works really well in a south facing room.

Oh, and before our units were painted they had grey undercoat, and the colours worked really well with that too. We also have our living space in the mustard spice and it goes well with the oak floor in there.

thanks @roseum your space looks lovely. I really like the pale grey one, will try and get a sample card.

No prob. The great thing about navy, white and grey is that so many colours go with them, so you’re spoilt for choice if you want a feature wall- teal, aqua, lemon yellow, burnt orange, whatever!

There's a pale pink from Lick that your DH could be convinced by! We went for an off white in our similarly grey kitchen but did the ceiling and walls the same colour which looks much better than the stark white ceiling

Thanks @bravotango I’ll check it out. I’ve never considered painting a ceiling anything other than white so that’s food for thought.

Justalittlebuild, on Instagram, had kitchen units, including the island, in similar colours to those you describe (in the house she lived in, before her current home - you can scroll back a way to see plenty of photos of her old kitchen).
Her kitchen was painted in Farrow and Ball's 'Wimborne White'.
Was nice and neutral and is a lovely warm white.

Wimbourne White is what we used! It's v warm and white enough that it doesn't look odd on the ceiling.
