Full disclaimer: I can't find the floor plan from our actual house so have used the neighbours from a right move listing.
Same layout out in every way except:
- they have a conservatory, this is currently our garden patio
- where they have the cooker, is an island for us
- our cooker is where their sink is
- our sink is against the wall to the patio (their entrance to conservatory)
- our doors to patio is doors to their conservatory
I'm struggling on 2 fronts:
The lounge layout seems to be set in a way that has a lot of dead space
Currently we have the sofa against the right-hand wall of the lounge facing tv on the left hand wall. We do also have a piano and wine rack/console cabinet that id like to keep.
Our parking is all out back so we use the patio door probably more than our front door. It means the area has just become a dumping ground of shoes, coats, pram, dog walking stuff etc, making the 'dining area' just a mess rather than functional. The dining table and chairs are smaller so size wise, already smaller than average.
Turning to the MN hive mind for any wonderful suggestions on how I could maximise this space?
Furniture wise - I have a few bits I'd like to keep but would consider getting a few new things to make this space work once and for all.
