How do you store your Sky Box / Wifi router / video consoles etc?

I'm looking for inspiration on a nice tidy way to store all the tv paraphernalia.

Currently we have an IKEA tv stand, wifi and sky box on the small slots and the monstrosity of a video console on the table top.

Is there any way to store all these things in a little unit (ideally with a door to hide them all). The video console doesn't fit in these slots so can't be put in.

How do you currently store all this?
Would it be better to wall mount the tv and get a taller cabinet instead?

Any ideas welcome

Personally I dislike wall mounted TVs and in many rooms they end up being too high for comfort. You also have a mess of cables dangling unless you want to install them behind the wall plasterboard.

There are lots of decent TV units on the market that have cable cutouts at the back and have grilles or slats at the front to allow an IR signal to get through from the remote. If you have an awkward space to put it into you can always try a local carpenter who will make one just the right size.

I just had my tv wall mounted and it’s completely solved my cable issues. The tv sits on the chimney breast and I have shelving in the alcove. The installer drilled a hole for the cables through the shelf and tied them all together. Looks so much better and the tv isn’t too high.

@december2020 I had this built by a local cabinet maker. The sky box etc are on the shelves underneath and there is a hole in the cabinet behind the TV for the wires. We have the same in the other alcove just with more shelves.
