Help me find a duvet set to go with these curtains

DS picked these for his room:

They're very nice but don't really go with his old bedding. His bed is right up against the curtains so any clash is obvious. He's 14.

I like the idea of stripy bedding but matching it seems impossible. Can anyone suggest anything? High street budget.

Always white bed linen and a scallop edge if you want a fancy set.

Plain duck egg set from Dunelm or something like this?

The curtains are lovely and actually very neutral. I would go for a plain but coloured duvet set (blues or greys to match or brighter tones for a contrast)

Are the neutral stripes cream or grey?
I think you need plain neutral, light blues or light greens.

Thanks, all. I do think plain is the way forward. He wants something "more interesting" but won't elaborate...

It's turning out to be a surprisingly tricky colour to match! Although it's called duck egg, it's a bit greyer. The stripes are cream but not JUST cream, sort of like a chambray type effect.

What about a contrasting, deeper colour? Could that work? I'm so rubbish at visualising things if they're not right in front of me!
