F&B Hardwick White - complimentary white for ceiling?

Hi,

We're strongly considering painting our north-facing study in Hardwick White - a colour which is really intriguing as it changes so much throughout the day. Trouble is, we've currently got 'pure brilliant white' on the ceiling, coving and skirting and it just doesn't match brilliantly. To be honest it's not the right white for a north facing room anyway, so could do with being updated!

Any recommendations on a white (F&B or Little Greene preferably) which would pair nicely with Hardwick White and not look either too cool or too yellow?

Thanks

Tim

if you look at the f and b website they give complimentary colours for each colour- strong white and wevet are paler colours they recommend which could work

Hi. Just did a search for hardwick white and found your thread. Did you go for it and if so, how are you finding it? I’m going to get a tester tomorrow but from photos I’ve seen, I can’t quite work out if it’s grey or green! Thank you.

Hey! We absolutely love it, but it was a bit of a slow burner at first. When I painted the whole room I was a little taken aback by the fact it has a slightly green tone, but actually the furniture looks lovely against it. If you’re happy that it’s not a completely neutral grey, go for it! It’s far more interesting in my opinion.

Thank you for updating! That sounds perfect actually. Furniture is all very light and neutral so this will mix it up a bit.
