Hi, does anybody have recommendations for fitted bedroom furniture? I'm looking at the sharps and Hammond's websites but I know I'm not being very imaginative with my research. I don't want IKEA pax... Would be good to have any recommendations that worked for you. Thank you!

If you can find a good local carpenter they will make and fit them for you much more cheaply than the big name firms. There are firms that supply carcass materials and bespoke doors which your carpenter should source for you. I’m having this done at the moment - two wardrobes (both full height, one with 4 doors, one with 6 doors and 4 drawers) costing £6k. And no heavy sales pressure…😁

Neatsmith is lovely. I know they cover London but am not sure what other areas.

Thank you for these tips, will look into it!

This is the company my carpenter used for the doors and panels but he used a local firm for the carcasses. Good luck!

I really didn't think the Sharps ones are much better than ikea pax. Would either go with pax or a local carpenter

If you want just want wardrobes (as opposed to fitted vanity units etc), I was very happy with Gliderobes. Excellent quality and very well priced. We used their recommended fitter who was fantastic.

We are very happy with the two lot of Hammond we had. Dd's was a budget range, ours were one of their more expensive ranges.

Sharps were a lot more expensive and that was without anything remotely extra like mirrors on doors or other features Hammonds priced in.

We had Sharps and Hammonds come round to quote this time, and already had a previous three doored to ceiling wardrobe by the always recommended 'local cheaper more creative person' - no difference in price or quality!
Sharps was basic design no excitement, Hammonds was really creative and I love it. (Whole bedroom) we could add extra pieces afterwards and it is lovely.

Our Sharps designer took one look at dd's room and said I can't do anything with that (previous owner had done a few strange things). Hammonds lady was lovely and came up with something that dd loved.

Oh thanks for your experiences! I will investigate local carpenters. I'm going to get Hammond's to quote as I really like their glamour unit built into the wardrobe but I'm sure any carpenter could replicate that if I show them. The rooms are still being plastered so hopefully it's not too early to get a quote in....
