What to put in empty bedroom?

I've just moved into a new place that has a lovely mezzanine level main bedroom.

The house has tons and tons of storage and space, which is great. However, as a result, my bedroom is a bit depressing! It's got my bed and a small bedside table, and literally nothing else!

I don't want to put a chair or anything up there as I'd never use it, and I don't need any storage in there, but I'd like to put something in as at the moment, it's a bit depressing climbing the stairs to my lovely but very empty room! I'd love to hear some ideas.

Bookshelves at differing heights
Floor vases with different heights and shapes
Sculpture on a small table
Beautiful large vase of flowers
Things on the wall - mirrors, art, lovely wall-hanging rug, sculpture etc
Beautiful stool / chair

I'd place a trunk along one wall. Maybe a floor lamp. Maybe photo frames on one end of the trunk?

Also what about a French dressing table?

Love all of this - especially the art and the bookshelves!!

Art work? A beautiful rug? An indoor tree?

Cocktail sofa and small coffee table, dressing table, fancy shelf to put a plant on, large piece of art, 2 bedside tables instead of 1, mirror, rug. Cat bed in the shape of a shark!
