What colour living room with light grey carpet

We are moving into our new house in 3 weeks. It currently has a light grey carpet in the living room which looks new and good condition so we likely won't replace it soon. It's a fairly large room 6mx5.5m with 3 windows. Any ideas for colours that will go with the light grey carpet? We have rustic oak sideboards if that makes a difference and will be getting new sofas so it doesn't have to match a sofa yet! I'm happy for one wall to be a different colour but don't want the whole room to be anything too dark/bold. It's currently cream which looks boring... if anyone wants to share pics of living rooms for inspiration.

Mine is a pale lilac

I have light grey carpet in 2 reception rooms. One is a dark teal colour and blush pink with yellow curtains my sofas are 1 navy and 1 pink and dining chairs upholstered orange (It's a bit of a crazy room). Furniture is all teak.

The other lounge has darker grey sofas, light oak furniture and mustard and navy accessories. Still white walls atm.

There are so many colours that match grey, it’s hard to choose. Teal is a lovely colour and would be my choice.

I was actually thinking teal. We have some navy in our current living room and although I really like it I thought might be nice to have a change.

I have a teal tension feature wall and timeless on the other walls. It’s bright, but brings me joy.

Which way does the room face, how much light does it get and what shade of grey is the carpet, cool or warm?

Something like Parma Gray (Farrow & Ball - actually much more blue than grey) would look good against a cool or neutral grey carpet.

Dove Tale (also F&B), is an example of a more warm mauve toned grey that would work better with a warmer toned carpet.

I have light grey (but laminate) flooring and I have Brilliant White on all the walls/pure white satin wood on the skirting boards.
I love teal so have a teal vase with mostly artifical green foliage in with a few stems of real foliage (that I got delivered amongst some flowers a while back 😅) I have a rustic oak TV unit, well, stained scaffold board on the hairpin legs stand.
I think white walls are a lovely backdrop for colourful things you really love, plus having a few varied houseplants here and there really adds to the light/airyness (?!) feel while the wood helps to add cosiness to the room.
I didn't plan on having white per se, it was just a colour to put on my plastered bedroom in the meantime but I fell in love with it and have all the rooms but the teenage dc rooms in Brilliant White.

Teal (or duck egg if you want a slightly lighter tone) for one wall, plus a greige neutral paint like Nutmeg White or Just Walnut.
A cool light yellow, like a primrose would also work well.

We have a light grey carpet and our accent colour is this lovely green. It's like a spring green. The other colour I have in the room is cream (the rug, also other cushions which aren't in the pic).

Just to add, our walls are a very light grey
