Ikea kallax or similar as corner seating.

Does anyone have ikea kallax units or some other ikea units as corner seating in a kitchen diner? Is it comfortable enough with cushions on? Does it need back cushions? Is there something else for a reasonable price that would work?

I think you’d slide off and under the table. But then I’m fat and we’ve gone for the hi gloss

This basically. I considered using Kallax for shoe storage with a bench on top but it would be too high.

I don't know if it adds enough height to make a difference but IKEA do an under frame for the 4x1 kallax now, which gives it legs.

We use one (a 1x 4) as occasional seating & storage with cushions on top - it's very sturdy. Not hugely comfortable, but would be more so with back cushions. The underframes Ikea sell are ok, but you can get some really lovely oak ones from etsy. A company called New Swedish Designs also make various products to 'hack ' kallax , but sadly, the shipping costs to the UK are too high for me! Good to look at for inspiration, though.

Like these. I think the legs/frame would add just that bit of extra height for seating.
