So I've finally decided on a new grey sofa, my floor abs tv unit etc are ok. I'm going to paint three walls light grey abs have one wall painted either navy blue or emerald green with the same colour curtains abs cushions. May throw in some orange cushions too to lift it a bit. Can't decide what would you go for?

Do you have the colour samples? The way you’ve described it sounds quite cold with the grey, not sure either of those colours work that well. The curtains sounds a bit matchy-matchy for me personally, but that might be the look you’re going for. Orange with the blue though, I think it would look a bit ‘Homebase uniform’ with the green!

Navy
The emerald green may reflect back green hue onto people or room ….

Not necessarily looking for matchy matchy I just have absolutely no vision and don't know what other colours would go!

Skip the grey walls and paint them all dark

DSGR · 09/04/2022 06:48

Paint them all navy. Far more classy

Denim drift from Dulux is the colour you should check out

whoturnedthesunoff · 09/04/2022 06:52

I would also paint them all navy - if the room is a decent size with natural light .

clpsmum · 09/04/2022 07:59

I will go and look at denim drift thanks for the recommendation.

Not sure the room is big enough for the four walls to be navy tbh

Paint them all emerald green.

I was going to suggest denim drift. Ds bedroom 3 walls grey and chimney breast denim drift.

clpsmum · 09/04/2022 08:04

I'll
Go and get some colour charts today thank you. I wish I was a bit more talented in this area I have no vision or imagination. I want my house to look nice but not sure how!!

I found denim drift quite light, sapphire Salute was too blue

Crown's Midnight Navy though was a very true navy. I paired it with matte white walls though rather than grey.

We have demin drift on all walls in our living room which is quite small but I don't think it makes it feel smaller.

LynetteScavo · 09/04/2022 08:50

There's a 3 bed semi near me with the living room painted navy. It looks good, but it looks dark. I don't think I could live with it. It looks more like a study, and I'm a larger house that's exactly what it would be. I say step away from the grey and dark walls.

Oooj that is another option I didn't think of white!

I think white would be a much better idea than pale grey.

Don't go with emerald green. I speak from experience having bought a house with some large emerald green walls. You have to get testers and try them in the room - you can paint sheets of paper or some lining paper. I tried Denim Drift in a room and it was lighter and more purple than it looked on a colour chart. Another option would be to go with a teal shade.
