Talk to me about carpets please!

We have been in our current home (Edwardian semi) for the past four years.

Aside from the stairs and landing there are wooden/parquet floors in every room including hallway.

I really fancy putting a carpet in one or two bedrooms so it feels cosier - currently have large rugs.

Do people match stair/landing carpets through to bedrooms or is it whatever decorative scheme you have going on in the bedroom?

I'm not looking for uniformity but just want it to flow - so does that mean sticking to same carpet throughout?

What do others do?

Thanks

I much prefer just one carpet in any carpeted rooms.

I have matching carpet throughout the upstairs. It looks better when doors are open etc......

Matching for me too, looks better.
