In the middle of a extension and planning dictated we needed obscure glass on windows overlooking neighbours. I really hate all the bobbly glass. Anyone got any glass ideas please.

Frosted glass?
Reed obscured glass is textured but less bobbly

You could have etched/sand blasted glass instead. Not sure I've used the correct terminology, but a glass merchants will be able to help you. Obscured glass comes in something like 9 patterns all made by Pilkingtons so there's not a big choice.

Satin glass is very obscure, no bobbles!

Just check that the sandblasted or etched glass is turned into the double glaze unit otherwise it may mark over time.

We've got frosted glass in our bathrooms and front door - the surface is smooth.

Go for satin glass. It’s not bobbly or patterned. Completely obscured but let’s a lovely diffused soft light in
