We are living in an very old house and plan to convert the loft to a bedroom and redecorate the whole house. We got quotes for doing the work. DH is now getting unsure about the timing arguing we might wait until next year or later when things calm down. But I don't think the cost will go down significantly if we wait for a year or two. We can just afford the cost now but will be a bit more comfortable if saving for another year or two then starting the building work.
I would like to hear what others think. I think the labour cost will only go up next year and material cost might not go down much. I would prefer to do the work ASAP.
