I think I want some but they are expensive. Are they worth it? Where is the best place to buy them from?

C’mon Mumsnet, silk flowers aren’t that niche Smile

Hi Op

Not a personal fan but qvcuk.com do a brand called Bloom who apparently are silk flower experts.
Have a browse!

Thanks for the QVC tip. Can I ask why you are not a fan? Honesty appreciated cos they are speedy and I’d love some talking down.

I'm not an ornament person at all - more dusting! Nothing against silk flowers for others. Decent, very real looking ones can be pretty if you can keep them clean. Cheap ones just look a bit naff.
I love fresh flowers & plants though.

Following because I love flowers but my cats eat the real ones 😂

@hilariousnamehere 🤣

I bought an orchid arrangement from Bloom. It was pricey but unless you look very closely, it’s indistinguishable from the real thing and looks lovely in my dark hallway.

I don't have these but having worked quite a few corporate events...

And having bought a few from the pound shop for my artwork...

From a short distance, the posh pricey ones and the pound shop ones look similar. Up close, there is a difference, of course. But if you want to be talked down...there's honestly not that much difference!

Homesense/TK Maxx usually have a good selection.

I have some very good ones - my last purchase was frim bloom 2 years ago and looks amazingly real.

I bought some from Bloom for my mother's room in her care home - constant blooms & easily dusted by the cleaners!
They look really lovely.

This is exactly what I need them for - North facing halfway and the only window is above the door. Cut real flowers actually do last for ages in there, but houseplants can’t survive.

The ones I like are from Fox Flowers. They look so dreamy

Fox Flowers are lovely.

But if you want to be talked out of it...l
There's definitely cheaper brands.

I've recently bought a small posey for my porch as it's too cold in there for anything real to survive.
