What colour sofa’s go with this carpet?!

Hi All!

We have chocolate brown carpets thoroughout our house which I hate, but that’s a story for another day and we are currently sofa shopping. Unfortunately, nothing seems to look right with this flipping carpet Confused. Our current sofas are a lightish grey and seem to stick out like a sore thumb.

Any advice/opinions on what colour sofas would compliment this carpet would be greatly appreciated.

We currently have a dark/emerald green feature wall and matching throws/cushions but thought a green sofa may be too restrictive if we wanted to redecorate further down the line. Ideally I was thinking something neutral-ish but at my wits end at this point so open to any ideas Grin. Not sure if the fact I don’t like the carpet is clouding my judgement!

Photo of said carpet attached- hit me with your suggestions! Smile

Is there a body under that carpet? It’s all lumpy.

Argh no way could I live with a brown carpet.... I'd be dropping the iron on it or spilling a pot of paint while repainting lol! I'd buy a neutral colour sofa that way when you do replace the carpet/repaint the feature wall it will match with anything.

Instead of spending money on a new sofa could you spend it on a new carpet or some kind of new flooring.
A new sofa on that carpet is a total waste. Smile

If you buy something to match well with something you really don't like then you'll just be adding to the negative. Best to wait, save up and invest towards what you do like.

Really, I would get a big rug to cover as much as possible in a mix of colour that you like - but preferably also a touch of this brown to blend. I would personally go for blue and cream. Then I would have a matching blue sofa and blue and cream accessories, as in cushions, throws, and a brown one for good measure to tie all in. Of course, curtains need to go with colour scheme as well.

And add some greenery and freshness with some house plants.

Burnt orange with teal and emerald green cushions?
It really looks very badly laid OP, sorry ☹️

I love the second colour combination in the farrow and ball link

Looking to refresh our painted kitchen and add a larger island. The floor we have is a yellowy limestone (as opposed to a grey shade) and the kitchen is north facing but does get decent light. Currently the kitchen is painted in Bone, String and French Grey FB but I’m wanting something different.
Anybody got any ideas for colours which would tone with the floor and be different from what we have already?

Oh gosh thought this was an old carpet, it looks very thin and baggy not fitted properly! It would be doing my head in to op
