We had our bathroom redone a couple of years ago. I have now found what I am pretty sure is penetrating damp in an adjacent room on an external wall and it goes right up to the stud wall which separates that room from the bathroom. As the house is built on a slope the external wall is a retaining wall and there is earth behind it. We have had problems with the damp course before but not in that area. I have an expert coming to look at it in a fortnight. My query is would it be possible to take off the wall panneling, carry out the damp work and then replace it after? The panels were expensive and I'd like to keep them if at all possible.
