Suggest a colour to go with these tiles

I’m in love with these tiles and want to use them in our downstairs toilet. We have exposed pipework in there which looks less obvious when painted a dark colour so I’m looking for something fairly dark to compliment the tiles. What would you suggest?

Huge thanks 😊

Personally I’d do a deep ocean blue

AdaColeman · 15/03/2022 10:09

If you want the pipe work to “disappear” I’d match the dark blue shade in the tiles.

CheeseMaiden · 15/03/2022 10:18

Those tiles are beautiful! If it wasn’t for the pipes I would say a pink/plaster colour. A deep blue/black would really make the orange tones pop and hide the pipework

Baxdream · 15/03/2022 11:33

I'd go for a very dark blue almost black. You can paint the pipes too. We did it with ours

Great picture @Baxdream I love the wallpaper! Yes I was thinking a very dark blue or green would work well. Did you use a special type of pain on the pipes? Any reccomendations on particular shades or brands to look at?

Baxdream · 15/03/2022 15:41

It's just metal spray paint. They were boxed in, which we removed. I always think downstairs toilets should be a bit out there!

A dark blue with the turquoise undertones, satin brass taps 😊

ouch321 · 15/03/2022 16:02

It's already v full on. Just pick a blue or orange.

fruitbrewhaha · 15/03/2022 21:23

I'd go for a caramel/honey colour, it's very 2022. People will see the pipes whatever colour you paint them. But if the are the same colour as the walls its all the same.

Halli2020 · 17/03/2022 02:00

I would do a olive green

MCbatcommander · 17/03/2022 21:30

Can you replace the pipes with copper? Would look fab against the tiles. Or terracotta paint if not?

chickensafari · 18/03/2022 14:26

I love the idea of copper piping, I might see what the cost would be. I'm not sure I can do terracotta, I remember it too well the first time around - my 90s childhood home was 98% terracotta! There are quarry tiles on the floor so there's already some terracotta in there.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 18/03/2022 14:29

Farrow and Ball Hague Blue would be lovely with those tiles.

Totally agree - your house can be minimalist and neutral but your little toilet should be crazy and fun! You're in there a few minutes at a time and it's fun for guests

I would go for a dark mustard or a dark teal if you are doing paint - basically pick out a colour from the tile (which are gorgeous) and do a darker version

wonkylegs · 18/03/2022 15:34

Dulux Hawaiian blue 1 or 2, Teal Velvet, Breton Blue or lost lake or teal tension
Would all work
