Farrow and Ball Strong Accent Colour for Kitchen

Am a relatively recent convert to Farrow and Ball paints and have a recently fitted DIY shaker kitchen in Mussel which I believe is close match to F&B Shaded White. The kitchen is north facing and walls are painted in Old White which looks great and has definite muted green tones. I’m now looking for a darker colour accent for shaker shelving and possibly table legs and possibly the oak furniture in the partially open plan adjoining family room which also has walls painted in Old White.

I am wondering about Mouse’s Back but am really open to ideas from those with more experience of combining paint colours. Again this room is North facing but does have a large window and gets a lot of light.

I am aiming for a modern warm cosy country look. I dislike yellow tones and cold blue ones. Love the depth of colour and green notes of Old White and looking for something darker and complementary.

If you go on their website and click on paint colours you have it will bring up suggested combinations.

We have Oval Room Blue in ours, with cashmere cabinets and oak furniture, then charcoal curtains/chairs and anthracite radiator, handles and curtain Pole, I LOVE it.

Bancha for a bold look
Studio green for a more understated but dark and moody

Green smoke is lovely too

Honour Killing and Nit Infestation could also be a possibility

‘Honour killing’, is that supposed to be witty @DomusAurea?

I have Mouse's Back as the accent wall in my kitchen. It is lovely with painted units and light oak table and chairs

We have Radicchio with black worktops and old white cabinets, table legs. I would never have chosen it myself but I love it

How about poking room pink?

I am painting the whole house atm and phoned F&B to speak to a colour consultant which was great.
There are some hints in here for strong colours in a North facing room www.farrow-ball.com/the-chromologist/inspiration/top-tricks-for-tricky-light

Thank you to those who have made sensible suggestions! I know the names are daft but I’ve been impressed with the paint so far and don’t want to make an expensive mistake combining colours. Don’t want to play it too save either though.

I’ve had a read of the F&B suggested combinations and ordered a few sample pots.

If you're feeling brave, have you seen F&B's Inchyra Blue? I think it would look great with Old White and would give a similar feel to this kitchen gallery I found. Good luck !!! xx
