New mattress

Need new mattress due to back ache and the fact it's 10 years old.

Where would you recommend and what type?

Prefer to try out rather than just order online?

Ikea Hovag. As recommended by Which and a ton of other places. We have a really expensive mattress, recently bought the Hovag for teenage daughter and it is better than ours.

I bought my mattress from John Lewis and I love it. It was under their “Agora” range. I just had a look and it’s now “Luxury Natural Collection”.

We just got it a couple of weeks ago and oh my goodness I have had the best sleep of my life even with a baby. Hopefully it will last but it has good reviews too.

We've just bought a simba hybrid pro.
It's a mattress in a box so I was very sceptical but you can try it at home and send it back.
Honestly I feel 10 years younger! All of my aches and pains have gone. I would definitely recommend it - like sleeping on a cloud

Have you tried going to a bed shop like Dreams or Bensons and having a chat to them, trying the beds out etc?

We got a Dreamcloud mattress in the autumn. We’ve just struggled with it, it’s well marketed but simply not the one for us.

After seeing a friends post asking for advice, and a lot of people recommending Dreams, we went to the store. Apparently they had a special bed you both lie on and it comes up with mattress suggestions.

We tried it and I’ve finally bitten the bullet and the new mattress arrives next Saturday, I cannot wait!
